Dom Peré
Dom is a transportation solutions innovator with 20 years’ experience in all facets of supply chain management. In 2011, Dom co-founded Marex where he currently serves as CEO. Under his leadership, the company has rapidly grown into a trusted technology-enabled supply-chain logistics and transportation management services provider. Dom has a proven track record in the development of agile supply chains, innovative technology and managing logistics organizational transformations.
Dom is passionate about creating time and cost savings for his clients and believes that data and technology can transform the logistics industry. At the core of everything Marex does is Dom’s vision for a more efficient industry, powered by big data and meaningful client relationships.
His supply chain logistics career began in Dubai, UAE while employed by The Shaw Group, Inc., a publicly traded Fortune 500 company based in Louisiana. Between 2004 and 2010 Dom gained vast experience in solving complex logistical problems and managed teams of multi-national professionals in the Middle East and Central Asian markets.
In 2013, Dom co-founded Fila-Mar Energy Services, a Texas based transportation company that manages inbound and outbound logistics for the exploration and production companies within the onshore oil and gas industry. In 2014, Dom co-founded BulkTracer which under his leadership designed, developed, and launched a last-mile TMS system called PropDispatch. This technology became, and remains today, the market leader in last-mile logistics tech within the frac sand industry. After five years of rapid growth, PropDispatch was acquired by Hi-Crush Partners in early 2019.
Dom graduated with Dean’s List honors from Louisiana State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Finance. Dom currently serves as a member of Finding the Way Foundation’s Board of Directors and is involved in local and international philanthropic initiatives.
Dom is currently based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he lives with his wife Ashley and their four children.
Paul Esser
Paul is an expert in transportation management with 16 years’ experience in the global supply chain industry. In 2016, Paul co- founded Marex’s supply chain management practice where currently serves as COO of the company as well as Managing Director of the supply chain management division. Paul began his career in the global maritime business with Van Weelde Shipping Group, a shipowner based in the Netherlands, that operated a fleet of ocean-going bulk carriers.
There he gained experience in each division of the company from commercial functions to chartering/operations. Paul graduated cum-laude from Inter-College Business School, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a specialization in finance. Paul grew up near the water, sailing competitively, where he developed a passion for maritime logistics.
After 9 years at the corporate headquarters of Van Weelde Shipping Group in Rotterdam, Paul relocated to the United States to establish and lead the company’s North American office based in New Orleans.
In 2017, Paul moved to Guatemala to establish the Latin American office of Marex. After 4 years in Guatemala, Paul returned to the Netherlands where he currently lives in Zutphen with his wife Marie and their 3 children.
Jim Barnes
Jim Barnes is a leading expert in supply chain management from source to consumption. He currently serves as a strategic advisor to the firm where he contributes to the vision and strategic direction. Jim co-founded and was CEO of enVista since 2002 in response to market demand for comprehensive supply chain consulting services, and he has spent the last 20 years successfully deploying supply chain and enterprise solutions and synchronizing material and information flow for Fortune 500 companies. He was also CEO of Enspire Commerce, an enVista company that provides cloud-based, omni-channel, customer engagement solutions on a single platform. Jim recently retired.
He has consulted companies in retail, wholesale distribution and e-commerce industries. He has worked with companies such as Sephora, Sur La Table, Shopko, Tory Burch, Nature’s Best, Payless Shoes, Boot Barn, Brightpoint, Gulf-States Toyota, Wal-Mart.com, Genesco, Hibbett Sports, Modell’s and Sport Chalet. His expertise includes all areas within the extended supply chain, including global supply chain network design, strategic facility design, international and domestic transportation management, labor management, organizational change management and supporting supply chain and execution technology.
Prior to founding enVista, Jim was the Executive Vice President and co-founder of Q4 Logistics. He also held the position as Manufacturing Practice Manager at Tompkins and Associates. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master’s in business administration from Cal Poly.
